I have been trying to scan John's letter in, but you know my expertise on the computer. I decided to practice my typing and just type what he said with his spelling etc.
Dear Family,
I have a little more time today to write so I will try and write a little more. Well in a few minutes an Elder of the 70 is about to walk into my bedroom haha. Didn't think Richard Hinkley would ever see wher I lived. We get to chill with him later today. He is giving a devotional in an hour that I am looking forward to. Alright I want to talk a little about Food.... Mom don't send me anything food whise after I say this. We had aour best meal so far today at lunch. It was an attempt at lazan~a and fried garlic bread. O and a donut thing with strings of chocolate it was amazing. One of the best things ever is getting cold milk for cereal throughout the day. They have this off brand of stale fruit loops that are most favorite. Getting milk at all is pretty lucky. So what I like to do is just put water on em and eat them with a fork. Wo weird how the grossest thigs ever for back hom is what I look forward to. You guys would be proud of me the stuff I have ate here. If you don't like rice or potatoes (my companion) this place forces you to. My companion, Elder Harpel from Seattle ddn't eat rice but like one time before coming here, now he struggles but finishs most of the time. But I look foward to every meal because it is our only source of food. O ya mom kinda random but a sister Nash was here because her husband is a mission pres, she said she knew who you are. And the doctor here Elder Haymond knows Grandpa Cheesman and everyone, don't know how but thats what he told me. Lets see what else, our source of fun is playing foozeball, now this foozeball table is no ordinary table. It looks about 50+ years old, looks like it fell apart and someone just stacked it back together and the teams are not wearing the same colors. I love it. We also play what I call"lucky frogger". There is this big old wooden box with a bunch of holes in the top. Also on the top is a big metal grog. It has these two thick coins you throw and get in the holes for different amount of points. Sounds simple and boring, but most competitive in our district. I have yet to see a frog mouth. The metal frog has his mouth open where you try and get the coin...It is physically impossible. A slight angle to get in for about 4,000 points. Which means you win. If I ever saw one I would never play again I think.
I am getting better at soccer. That sport is crazy. Way too much running for me. There are a couple of latins that can really play. They like passing to me because I actually pass it back. But I have had a couple ogoals. Even here in Peru the Latinos call me Elder Cheeseman. Can't get away from me I guess. O ya I am not sure if I already wrote this, bute go tracting on Saturday! to real people! Luckily for our first time we got a native companion. But we go teach less actives. I hear it is very eye-opening on where your spanish is at. Which I think is going along well. I still get frustrated with myself at times, but I deal with it. It really helps that we teach Latins at least twice a day here, different situration every time. Me and my companion are learning to teach with one another well, finally. O and we had a baby octopus/seafood rice yesturday and I ate it, as a side fried octopus legs mmmmmm... Dad your fire story was awesome. Sounds like something in a movie. Well I just got back from the Devotional with Richard Hinkley. It was awesome of course. Just got a picture with him as well.
Lets see what ele do I do here... Next week we have super P-day. We get a tour of the town and go shopping. I have been craving anything with sugar the whole time we have been here, We go and buy soccer Jerseys for like $6.00 and they would be $80.00 in America. The soday here too is cheap, they sell 3 liter bottles for a dollar and the regular 12oz are about 33 cents. So I am excited about that. I am also the tallest person here (big surprise). Some of the hermmanas are under 5 ft. I feel like a giant, I should get use to it. Well I am going to go to bed so I won't be tired anymore. I love you guys and I miss you. I miss home a lot but, I am still staying strong. In 2 weeks ther is a day where everone leaves the ccm and we are the only 7 here. it's pretty awesome. I don't know if I already said we went to the tmple, but we did . it was cool looking but it was pretty small. I enjoyed it. Well I will write next week again. Love you guys. Church is true. Kristi blow in Jack's face for me.
Elder Cheesman
