Letter from Bolivia
oops, I didn't rotate the picture. Anyway here is John's letter.
Love you all!
well hello family! i am in bolivia! its soooo crazy here. way different than anything i have seen. i am in a place called Warnes a few miles out from Santa cruz. its like the perfect place. Our area though is huge! we sometimes have to walk for a mile or 2 and get in a taxi then drive for about 20 minutes get out walk for about 3 or 4 miles to a ladys house who i am babtizing this Saturday! how bout that. haha my companion wants me to babtize her. actually i think we have 2 saturday and maybe 5 on april 5th. so ya im nervous and excited about that. lets see what else. not really much wetness yet i think it rained the day before we flew in. but the weather was perfect all the way until yesturday...it was sooo hot i see why people talk about the hear here. the streets are tiled and what not. and the tar between the tiles melt in some spots it gets that hot on the ground. there are some beautiful places here. we were walking home once and i could see any star in the sky, we were walking through this huge field of green and no clouds were out. we have big fields of palm trees. the day doesnt get to hot if we get a lil wind cause the wind makes it a million degrees colder. i think there is like a 20 degree drop when you walk into a shadow. i love it. they also sell like 3 liters of sprite for about 1.50 which is pretty awesome. today we are goin shopping for some cool stuff. i think we might go buy a ring that they can put mission bolivia santa cruz. my new companion Elder Campuzano says he can teach me guitar and we are allowed to buy one . they are only 20 bucks here markus and cade and dean would love it. dont think it will distract me though i am only doing it in free time. i sent of picture of the new comp and our bathroom. the bathroom is always exciting. in the morning its quite a shock haha.the famous shower head we heard about is real. i turned it on for the first time and got a lil shock didnt think much of it. but when i turned it off o man did it get me. standing in water too cant be too good. so now i use my towel to turn it on and off haha. i love it. i havent got depressed actually because i can actually understand whats goin on. other guys in my district didnt know very much and i was worried for them. some of them went 12 hours away for there first area! thats crazy. the people here are so accepting to anything. we ask for them to be babtized on a date for street contacts. and after first lessons ppl say they want to be babtized its crazy. but its different if they actually go through with it. i am teaching a bunch my companion just gives me my time with a couple principles and clears up some stuff for them and we keep goin. but i share scriptures ask questions. im starting to do street contacts today which i am pumped for. well elder compuzano is from cochabamba. he is really tranquillo y chalinga. chalinga is a bolivian word for like awesome or sweet they use it a ton down here and i love it. they also speak differently then regular spanish. they say rapadingo instead of rapido hermanita instead of hermana. so i am picking up on all this slowly. it makes it more interesting. thats crazy about those torandos at home i didnt think that could happen in atlanta. The food here isnt too bad got kinda sick yesturday but im good now. the fruits here are amazing. mango season is in a couple months and i hear its the best. there are some interesting juices here as well a lot of them i dont know about but some are good. i might gain some weight. but with all the walking we do i dont think it will. hey can you share this email with everyone by the way i dont have too much time. these computers are slow as alything. but they give me an hour now. well i love you guys hope everything is going well at home. and i miss yall i hear it goes by fast as anything after 2 months but its already goin fast for me and i love it. but i bet i am goin to miss it. o ya my comp said i will be in this area for like 6 months! thats a long time. we dont have too many different companions i think in this mission which is a lil different. anyway love you guys.

Great job Mom. Keep 'em coming. I think Brooke would agree with me in saying that a mission in South American is a world apart from Europe in so many ways. He'll have more baptisms in a week than I had my whole mission. Heck, that's more than 3 average missionaries for their whole missions. My apartment had heated floors though..... can't complain too much.
OH johnny.... i thought about him allll day sunday and now i'm glad to actually read his letter! We had a sacrament meeting dedicated to missionary work (i had to say opening prayer due to the fact i am a ward missionary)! then talked to my little primary class about prayer and how it can make someone so far away seem like they are right next to you! Anyways thanks mom!!!
